Saturday June 8th 2013 - Salt Creek Volunteer Cleanup Day 9:00am to 12:00pm
We wish to extend our deepest thanks to all who participated in past clean ups, also to the Elk Grove Village and Park District for their continuous support. All our combined effort is quite obvious to anyone who enjoys the Salt Creek and adjacent Greenway. Additionally I know the wild life that abound the creek thank us all for maintaining their environment in its most pure and natural state. Once again THANK YOU!!
Come just walk along the creek and pick up some garbage or actually get in the water and clean it up by pulling out things that do not belong there. Everyone is welcome to help and it’s free and fun.
Over all this will be the 31st clean up in 18 years in Elk Grove. The clean up will start at Elk Grove High School parking lot along the creek at 9:00am.

Watershed Enhancements Workdays
Restoring natural areas in the watershed helps to reduce flooding and restore ground water levels. Stream bank and wetland enhancements provide habitat for waterfowl and other wetland dependent wildlife. A few hours of your time working on natural areas restoration can have a big impact on long term water quality. (These are not SCWN sponsored events.)

Habitat 2030 is a group of dynamic Generation Xers who care about the remarkable natural areas of the Chicago region. They are continuing the long history of volunteer stewardship at these sites and helping to build a culture of 20-30-40-somethings who will understand and care about our preserves to the year 2030 and beyond.

SCWN Meetings - time and place
Meeting Schedule
Monday Meetings for 2013 will be February 4th, March 4th, April 1st, May 6th, June 3rd, August 5th, September 9th, October 7th, November 4th, and December 2nd.
No meetings in January or July.
Second Monday in September is the annual meeting.
Meetings start at 7:00 pm with a Meet and Greet session.
Meetings will be held at the LaGrange Park Library unless *noted above. Meetings are held in the up stairs Conference room. The stairs are directly across from the entrance (past the checkout desk).
