Many thanks to the over 100 volunteers and scouts on land and water who came together to pick up trash along the Salt Creek in the Cook County Forest Preserve between the 294 and the Maple/17th St Bridge in North Riverside/Broadview on April 19th. You collected A LOT of waste, plastics, and large debris and have made a positive difference to both our communities locally and downstream as the water makes its way to New Orleans and the Gulf. A special thank you again this year to GZA GeoEnvironmental for feeding us hungry volunteers with a great bbq lunch afterwards, and to the MWRD for hosting the rain barrel raffle and offering plant saplings. From what we’ve heard everyone had a great experience and we hope that you will join us again next year. Well done!
