Elk Grove Village Cleanup Day

  • Elk Grove High School 500 W Elk Grove Blvd Elk Grove Village, IL, 60007 United States (map)

The result of our past efforts to keep Salt Creek clean is quite obvious to anyone who enjoys the creek and adjacent Greenway.  So once again, the 33rd time in 21 years, the FRIENDS of CRITTERS and SALT CREEK along with the SALT CREEK WATERSHED NETWORK invite you to walk along the creek and pick up some garbage or actually get in the water and pull out things that do not belong there.  While cleaning the banks and waterway is important, the best reason to take this walk is the possibility of seeing some wildlife and becoming familiar with the marvels of a wondrous ecosystem.  Salt Creek is a hidden jewel right in our own back yards.

Volunteers will be provided garbage bags, gloves and pick-up stix to use.  Dress for the weather and possible muddy conditions.  Waders and/or canoes are not necessary, but if you have either, they would be extremely useful and greatly welcomed.

Bring your friends and meet us at the Elk Grove High School parking lot along the creek at 9:00 am, Saturday, June 6.
